Frequently asked questions
Do you support people with UC and PIP mandatory reconsiderations and appeals?
Yes, we do these on a regular basis but unfortunately we cannot help everyone due to the volume of enquiries.
Is there help for older people attendance allowance and pension credit?
Yes, we do these forms on a regular basis for older people. Please get in touch to discuss your situation.
Do you represent people at face-to-face appeals?
While we do help people with the paperwork before an appeal unfortunately due to timing and resource constraints we are unable to attend appeals in person.
Do DSC work outside of the office and have regular drop-in meetings?
In addition to our regular office hours in Hebden Bridge we have a drop-in in Todmorden Health Centre, rooms 6 and 7, second Tuesday of the month from 11am. We also attend Todmorden College Food Drop-In, on the 1st Saturday of the month 9.30-12noon.
What is the key factor in applying for benefits.
The most important factor is to obtain medical evidence from your GP or Consultant.
